Description: Kick off the Summer with the 35th Annual Old Port Festival!

It’s that time of year again to kick off the summer with the free 35th annual Old Port Festival. Don’t miss this event on Sunday June 1st, 11am — 5pm featuring the best of local and regional music, food, arts and much more.

The Old Port Festival is bigger and better this year! We are pioneering a BRAND NEW Maine-Made artists and craftspeople area. Festival attendees with have the chance to see Maine-Made products from over 50 different artists and craftspeople from all over the State of Maine. Portland’s Downtown District has made this easy and low-cost opportunity available to the Maine arts community in order to further promote Maine-Made products within Northern New England. The response has been strong, so take a walk down Market Street on Sunday June 1st to see the best of Maine’s creative economy!

The Old Port Festival is the largest one-day festival in Maine and kicks off at 11am with a vehicle-free parade starting at the top of Exchange Street featuring mascots, music, dancers, giant puppets, stilt walkers and more.

From 11am - 5 pm the festival hosts eight musical stages featuring the best of local and regional talent. We have two new stages this year, be on the lookout for Sebago Brewing Company’s Stage on Middle Street and the Maine Blues Society Stage on Moulton Street!

Old Port shops and restaurants will be open along with vendors from throughout the region.

There are two children’s areas, one hosted by the Children’s Museum of Maine and the other by Kid’s Town Amusements. Throughout the Old Port, artists, activities, food, and other fun surprises are guaranteed. This festival is RAIN OR SHINE!

The Old Port Festival is produced by Portlands Downtown District (PDD). PDD is a non-profit business improvement district. It is a leader and facilitator in the support and promotion of the economic vitality of downtown Portland. PDD produces special events and marketing programs throughout the year to attract people to the downtown district. In addition, PDD manages enhanced operational services which improve downtown’s physical environment, parking and public safety. Celebrate the beginning of summer in beautiful downtown Portland with eight music stages, Maine-made arts and crafts, food from local businesses, kids activities, and more. The festival begins at 11 am with a foot powdered parade down Exchange Street led by the Shoestring Theater!
