From Summer Solstice Craft Show in September Website:

September 7 & 8, 2013 - Rain or Shine
TIME: 10 am to 4 pm each day

It's still summer in Wells, and as proof: it's once again time for the 25th Annual Summer Solstice Craft Show, Saturday and Sunday, September 7 & 8.Thousands of summer visitors and locals come to view and purchase the wares of more than 70 Maine and New England artists, who fill the interior and brick courtyard of the Wells Elementary School on Route 109.

This end-of-summer tradition is known for the quality and variety of crafts and arts it offers. Traditional, contemporary and country crafts are represented at this juried show. Visitors will find stained glass, jewelry, pottery, soaps, candles, wood accessories, fiber arts, graphics, photography, handcrafted specialty foods and much more. Many of the artists and crafters in the show use materials and create goods that are either of Maine or capture Maine or New England.

Among the artists at the show are sea glass jewelry artists Nancy McCallum and Patsy Onatah, who, in their business Pieces of Maine, take small bits of glass, found along local beaches and transform them into wearable art.

Other special treats: Woodworker Harley Colwell creates cleaver, one-of-a-kind puzzles. Lotion and potion maker Chet Waltman concocts subtle, aromatic soaps and lotions; Jean Prue reminds us that the holidays are coming, with happy, whimsical ornaments made out of a special dough. This is just a taste of the variety available at the show.

The craft show also includes live music, provided by John Tercyak of Bar Harbor, who is an accomplished folk guitarist, fiddler and singer.

Lunch is available at the show, from Diane & Bob Wolfort, of Julies Ristorante & Provisto in Ogunquit. They offer a lunch menu that includes crowd favorites with some creative gourmet touches, plus they make hand-blended vinegars, dips, oils and sauces, all available at the show.

The craft show is held rain or shine from 10 am to 4 pm both days.
