Description:

From 28th Annual Chocolate Lovers Festival Website:

Sexual Assault Response Services of Southern Maine (SARSSM) celebrated their 40th Anniversary at the Chocolate Lovers' Fling on Sunday, April 7, 2013 from 1-4 PM at the Holiday Inn by the Bay. The benefit featured the decadent confections of ten of Southern Maine's most talented chocolatiers. This year's Chocolate Lovers' Fling was a special gala event to celebrate SARSSM's 40th Anniversary and featured table service, a four course chocolate tasting, a silent auction with 100 items, and a celebration of SARSSM's history.

Thank you to the loyal following of chocolate enthusiasts who made their annual pilgrimage to the Fling. Ten talented local chocolatiers showcased their creativity and served their ultimate chocolate confections. Chocolatiers competed for awards, including the prized People's Choice award. All attendees had the opportunity to participate in the judging process, and will received expert guidance in chocolate appreciation. Attendees also enjoyed meeting the chocolatiers and placing bids in a silent auction featuring jewelry, art, getaways, and of course, chocolate.

The Chocolate Lovers' Fling is a fun way to support SARSSM and a good excuse to indulge in an afternoon of delicious chocolate desserts. It also generates funds essential to keeping SARSSM's free and confidential services available. In the words of Holly, who has attended many Chocolate Lovers' Flings, said, "It's great to see so many people support such a great cause. I almost teared up seeing everybody here today because it's such a great cause - to know that that many people support [SARSSM] and they can help more people like me - it's great, it's heartfelt."
