Oakland, Maine (Gateway to the Belgrade Lakes Region) is home to OakFest- an exciting, new annual community event. The 28 square mile town, plus neighboring communities, have a lot to offer. We wanted to throw a celebration to shine more light on the area's farms, organizations, and businesses.

Much like the Taste of Waterville, or Augusta's Whatever Family Festival, OakFest brings together people from all over the community to celebrate our awesome town. We are a little different, however, in that we will be having an Open Air Market that includes fresh produce, homegoods, and services.

Messalonskee Lake & Stream along with the other nearby Belgrade Lakes provide people with a variety of recreational activities, including kayaking, canoeing, fishing, boating, and more. Messalonskee Stream Hiking Trail is also a great walk through the Oakland woods. Our downtown area has a variety of new shops, as well as numerous established businesses. We are home to First Park- one of Maine's leading business and technology centers. On the outskirts, we have a diversity of farms, forests and open space.
