Enjoy the best of art and craft July 8 & 9, 2017 at a summer craft show that is a festive tradition in Wells: the annual July Summer Solstice Craft Show. Now in its 35th year, the popular two-day event will be held from 10:00am to 4:00pm at the Wells Jr. High School on Route 1 (1470 Post Road), Wells.

This juried craft show features 70 + crafters and artists who display their handmade wares inside and also outside on the Jr. High grassy lawn. Traditional, contemporary and country crafts are featured. Youll see stained glass, jewelry of all types, pottery, soaps, candles, wood crafts, fiber arts, graphics, photography, handcrafted specialty foods and much more. Many of the crafters and artists have been coming back for years, and they look forward to making new products for their customers.

Heres just a sampling of the variety youll find at the July show.

-Sharon White, Methuen, Massachutes: Sharon is an amazing wood burning artist.Her floral cribbage boards and treadle sewing machine tables are a must see.

-John & Debbie Liberty, Corinna, Maine: John certainly has an eye for whimsy as demonstrated by his metal garden art. He is also willing to forge your old family tools and create new family keepsakes.

-Calvin Bryant, Kennebunkport, Maine: Functional and eye appealing cutting boards, tables and games boards.

-Brigitte Delaplace, Kennebunk, Maine: Brigitte demonstrates her love for vintage with the jewelry she has creates. Earrings, pins and pendants feature a vintage piece as the focal point.

-Judith Hodges, South Portland, Maine: Watercolour Artist.

-Betty Snowman, Auburn, Maine: Ladies appliqud sweatshirt, tee-shirts, sweaters & jackets are her specialty.

-Bernadette Henry, Cape Neddick, Maine: Functional & decorative ceramic & clay garden accents.

The craft fair also includes music by folk musician John Tercyak of Bar Harbor. His CDs will be available for sale at the show. John has a strong following and has received many accolades as a performer.

Beach Dawgs Cafe will be offering luncheon specials. Their homemade, hearty Maine fare will please all palates.

The craft show is held rain or shine. Admission and Parking are FREE
