Get a jump on the holidays, or just enjoy browsing the wares of the 70 + Maine and New England artists and crafters at the 29th Annual September Summer Solstice Craft Show, Saturday and Sunday, September 9 & 10 in Wells. The popular two-day event will be held from 10:00am to 4:00pm at the Wells Jr. High School on Route 1 (1470 Post Road).

Traditional, contemporary and country crafts are featured. The juried show includes stained glass, jewelry of all types, pottery, soaps, candles, wood crafts, fiber arts, graphics, photography, handcrafted specialty foods and much more.

Heres a sampling of the artists and crafters:

-Pauline Lampert, Portsmouth, New Hampshire: A creative Folk Artist that celebrates the season with folk art wreaths, dolls, pumpkins, ghosts and more.
-Maggie & Pete Adams, Camden, Maine: Hand beaded necklaces with kumihimo influance, gems and earrings.
-Dorothy Winchell, Acton, Maine: Functional pottery to include chip & dip sets, cups and plates. Dorothy also hand crafts buttons and beads in her clay works studio.
-Sheila McDonough, Limington, Maine: Sheilas Hand-woven rugs and hats are handspun in her Limington studio. She also offers felted items to include alpaca hand puppets.
-Susan Randall, Rochester, New Hampshire: If you want to take a piece of Maine home with you Susan is the gal to seek out. Beach stones are transported into functional key rings, door knobs and more. . .
-Von Hedemann, Milford, Ohio: Kim spends her winters in Ohio and luckily for us her summers in Maine. It is always a joy to have Kim at our shows with her whimsical pottery boxes.
-Roxanne ONeal, Hillsborough, New Hampshire: Her amazing origami jewelry is handcrafted from very unusual paper. Roxanne has a story to tell behind every piece. She is also a quilling artist. Truly a must see.
-Debbie Metruk, Essex, Vermont: Debbie offers Natural lotions, oils, lip balms and hot packs.

The craft show also includes music by folk musician Carolyn Currie of Cumberland. Her CDs will be available for sale at the show.

Beach Dawgs Cafe will be offering snacks and lunch. Their homemade, hearty Maine fare will please all palates.

The craft show is held rain or shine. Admission and Parking are FREE.
